The District of Columbia’s Annual Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses for 2009 showed that there were 3,090 work-related injury and illness cases reported in the private industry that required days away from work.
Fatal work injuries totaled 10 in 2009 for the District of Columbia, according to the District of Columbia Department of Health’s Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI), in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
