This report supplements the information presented in the 2003 Epidemiological Profile for the District of Columbia. The HIV/AIDS Epidemiologic Profile for the District of Columbia attempted to answer three core questions, namely: (1) What are the sociodemographic characteristics of the general population in the District of Columbia?; (2) What is the scope of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the District of Columbia?; and (3) What are the indicators of risk for HIV/AIDS infection in the District of Columbia? The tables and graphs presented described in detail some of the populations affected by the epidemic. For the purpose of HIV Prevention Community Planning and Ryan White Health Services Planning, the following document has been prepared to address in depth those populations that were not covered or not covered in sufficient detail in the Epi Profile.
