Mpox Data

Mpox (formerly called Monkeypox) is a rare, but potentially serious viral illness that can be transmitted from person to person through direct contact with body fluid or mpox lesions. The Mpox outbreak in DC started in May 2022 and is ongoing.

This page shows updated data for laboratory-confirmed cases among people living in DC, as well as vaccinations administered to DC residents. Cases of Mpox are reported to DC Health from laboratories and healthcare providers. The data on this page are updated every Wednesday by 11 am EST.
