DC Health’s Food Safety and Hygiene Inspection Services Division is proud to present the annual Director’s Award to the deserving recipients. The Director’s Award is an annual award given to those food establishments in the District which demonstrate excellence in Food Safety. Of the over 6,500 food establishments in D.C., only a select few achieve this high award each year. Food operations demonstrate food safety excellence by having no risk factor violations, priority, or priority foundation violations on their most recent health inspection reports. Each operation must have a certified food protection manager on site at all times during operation and must have strict employee health and hygiene policies and practices. Establishments must be open at least 18 months to qualify for the award and must have been inspected at least once or twice, depending on the nature of their business, within the review period. The recipients in this announcement have met the requirements and have been awarded this year's Director’s Award.
