As Director of the District of Columbia Department of Health, I designate the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) as “competent medical or public health organizations” pursuant to D.C. Official Code § 3-1201.01 and D.C. Official Code § 7-1653.01.
Effective immediately, this designation allows Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Interns authorized to administer immunizations in the District of Columbia to do so in accordance with the guidelines established by ACOG, AAP, and AAFP.
