On July 25, 2015 at 9 am please join Mayor Muriel Bowser along with Dr. LaQuandra Nesbitt, Director of the DC Department of Health (DOH), Mr. Keith Anderson, Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and your Ward 2 FitDC Coach Aimee Stoltz at the Jellef Recreation Center to participate in a 1.5 mile walk in and around your neighborhoods as part of the FitDC health and wellness initiative. This effort is part of the Mayor’s commitment to a fresh start in health and wellness in Washington, DC.
The Emergency Medical Service Advisory Committee (EMSAC) was reseated on January 20, 2012. The The role of EMSAC is to provide advice on best practices in EMS across the country which is used in establishing performance goals for EMS in DC.
The Board of Occupational Therapy meetings will cover the following issues:

• Evaluate applicants' qualifications
• Recommend standards and procedures

This day was established as an annual observance to promote HIV testing. This is a particularly important time for YOU to get involved! Take the Test, Take Control. Here are some ways you can get involved around National HIV Testing Day (June 27).
The National Planning Committee is convened by Caribbean People International Collective, Inc. and is the lead organizer for the day.
HIV Vaccine Awareness Day (HVAD) is observed annually on May 18th. This observance provides an opportunity to recognize and thank the many volunteers, community members, health professionals, and scientists who are working together to find a safe and effective preventive HIV vaccine. It is also a day to educate communities across the nation about the importance of preventive HIV vaccine research.
The month of May is designated as Hepatitis Awareness Month in the United States, and May 19th is Hepatitis Testing Day. During May, CDC and its public health partners work to shed light on this hidden epidemic by raising awareness of viral hepatitis and encouraging priority populations to get tested.
