World Hepatitis Day (WHD) is recognized annually on July 28, the birthday of Dr. Baruch Blumberg, who discovered the hepatitis B virus in 1967. WHD serves as a time to promote wellness and information about hepatitis.
National HIV Testing Day 2026
National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) was first observed on June 27, 1995. This is a day to encourage people to get tested for HIV, know their status, and get linked to care and treatment.

National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
Every year on March 10 — and throughout the month of March — local, state, federal, and national organizations come together to shed light on the impact of HIV and AIDS on women and girls and to show support for those at risk of and living with HIV. This year marks the 21st annual observance of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD).
This year DC Health / HAHSTA will be in specific DC locations educating young women and girls about HIV and STI. These events are not open to the public.
