In-Home Services

The DC Department of Health offers programs that provide services to parents and children in their own homes. These programs include:

DC Healthy Start Project (DCHS) provides ongoing case management/home visitation to pregnant and postpartum women and men and their children. Healthy Start also provides free pregnancy test and screenings out in the community including mobile curbside health services for pregnant and parenting women.

DC Linking And Tracking Surveillance (DCLTS) identifies and refers infants born in DC who are at-risk for developmental delays and disabilities.

In-Home Parent Education (0-5yrs) Program provides funding for community organizations to provide in-home parenting education to DC parents of children up to five years of age.  Currently approved curricula include: Parent as Teachers (PAT) and Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters.
