Washington, DC – The DC Department of Health (DOH) announced today that current health inspection notices, and notices from the past three years, are now available on its website, doh.dc.gov. DOH’s Food Safety and Hygiene Inspection Services Division (FSHISD) conduct over 5,000 annual inspections. The addition of past inspections to the online system is an ongoing process for FSHISD staff; however, new reports are scanned into the system on a daily basis and will be available to the public as they are processed into the online inspection system.
“Even though health inspection reports were always made available to the public, we are now proud to be able to provide residents with easier access to food safety and hygiene information,” said Pierre Vigilance, Director of DOH. “Our health inspectors work closely with restaurants and other partners to ensure that food establishments are being held to the highest of standards, and it is important that residents are able to access the information that impacts how they live, eat, and care for their families in the District.”
Residents can search by zip code, licensee name or restaurant name in order to locate the health inspection history of their favorite food establishment. For more information, or to locate health inspection reports, visit http://washington.dc.gegov.com/webadmin/dhd_431/web/.
