(Washington, DC) – The DC Department of Health (DOH) is hosting a professional development symposium on Wednesday, February 16, entitled "From Here to Paternity." This symposium is for healthcare professionals interested in receiving Continuing Education Units (CEU) and will help educate nurses, social workers and mental health professionals on how important the role and involvement of a father is during pregnancy to ensure healthy birth outcomes. This workshop will be held at 441 4th Street NW, on the first floor South Lobby in the Old City Council Chambers from 9:30 am to 1 pm.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the various stages of pregnancy; keys to effective communication; the role of expectant fathers during pregnancy; and obstacles and challenges to paternal support.
