TB Clinic Information
The TB Chest Clinic is a specialty clinic and sees persons who have or are suspected of having tuberculosis and persons who have come in close contact with someone diagnosed with TB disease. While an appointment is not needed to be seen at the clinic, you must bring a written referral from a health care provider. The clinic does not perform routine TB screening, such as those for job or school admission.
The clinic provides diagnostic and medical management of persons who have been diagnosed with or are suspected as having TB. Specific services include skin testing for close contacts to tuberculosis and high risk individuals, chest x-rays, sputum collection, medical management, including treatment, and case management.

Mondays & Wednesdays….8:30 am – 11 am (closed from noon – 1 pm) 1 pm – 3 pm

Thursdays………………….No clinic hours

By Public Transportation
The TB Control Program and Chest Clinic can be reached by Metrorail (the Orange and Blue Lines, the Stadium-Armory stop) and Metrobus (Routes 96 & B2, the DC General Hospital stop; and Routes D6 & 97, the Stadium-Armory stop).
From the Stadium-Armory Stop:
Exit on DC General side. Walk south on 19th Street (against traffic) to the main entrance for DC General. Turn left into the main entrance of the DC General Health Campus and follow the road down to the main bus stop. Follow concrete walkway (to the right of bus stop); turn left after passing Re-entry Services (on your left). Bldg 15, TB Chest Clinic, will be the second building on your right, next to Medical Examiner’s building.
From the DC General Bus Stop:

By Car
Enter the DC General Health Campus through the main DC General entrance. Make the first right to enter the circle. Proceed half way around the circle, taking a right at the first opportunity. Make the second left into a parking lot (the DC Jail will be on your right) and follow it to the end. At the end, make a left onto the small road (the DC Medical Examiner’s Office will be on your right). You will enter a small parking lot and the TB Chest Clinic will be on your right.
TB Information for DC Providers
To report a case/suspected case of TB: Providers are required to complete a
Case Report Form* within 48 hours of diagnosis or appearance of suspicious symptoms. District laboratories are required to report all positive acid fast bacilli (AFB) results whenever determined by smear, culture or otherwise. Fax reports to (202) 724-2363, attn: Registry.
